Kingdom Hearts Planner is a project to make weekly planners themed after the Kingdom Hearts games.
2020
The first planner project was launched in 2019 with a planned release for 2020.
Overview
Applications for artists for a "Kingdom Hearts weekly moleskine planner" opened on January 5, 2019, with a deadline of January 31st[1]. Results were sent out on February 16, 2019[2]. The contributor lineup was first announced in March 25, 2019, but was updated on July 2, 2019[3]. A poll was posted on June 28, 2019, querying what kind of additional merch should be added to the planner, to which a majority voted on acrylic keychains[4].
To gauge interest, the project's team opened preorders for thirty units for $20 USD beginning on August 30, 2019, and immediatley sold out on the same day[5]. Regular pre-orders went live on September 1, 2019, each planner sold for $25 USD, and would go on until the team made the initial order[6]. Order numbers were finally capped on October 1st, and preorders continued until ordered stock ran out[7]. The store finally closed on December 27, 2019[8].
Shipping of orders started on December 16, 2019[9]. Significant delays occurred for orders to arrive on time due to new year influx of mail within Japan slowing down processing time[10]. By January 6, 2020, the main moderator went to the post office to inquire about the delayed packages and learned that the packages had certainly left Japan but had not been indicated to have been arrived at their destination countries[11]. By January 12, 2020, an update announced that the delayed packages had been logged at the customs office in New York[12].
The shop reopened on January 27, 2020, for last-chance sales, selling planners at a discounted $21[13]. All planners were sold out by January 28, 2020[14].

2021
Shortly after the completion of the 2020 planner project, the team returned with plans to make a planner for 2021.
Overview
Applications for a new planner for 2021 opened from February 4 to March 1, 2020[29]. Results were sent out on March 15th[30].
At some point after, the project entered into an indefinite hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and the project's Twitter account was updated to reflect this. An answered question later on October 15th revealed that the planner would not be made for the year 2021 due to airmail shipping being blocked from Japan to the rest of the world[31]. However, a potentially new format was being considered for the next planner to be more flexible to use, to be bought at any time, and to reduce wasted pages. Later on September 9, 2021, the team explained that even then, Japan had not reinstated international airmail for printed materials and would cost more money than tolerable for buyers and organizers[32].
