Kingdom Hearts Art Book Project II is an artbook featuring artwork of characters from the Kingdom Hearts games. The zine is a sequel to The Beginning: A Kingdom Hearts Fanbook.

About

Following the completion of The Beginning: A Kingdom Hearts Fanbook, Kenzichi posted on May 15, 2015, a survey for a new art book project[1]. Signups for the art book project began from July 14, 2015, and closed on July 16, 2015, due to a high volume of applications[2]. A total of 56 applications were submitted[3].

Preorders opened from January 26, 2016, to March 19, 2016[4]. The zine was sold for $16 USD and included 46 illustrations by 45 artists. An offer of a bonus print was offered for the first 20 orders. Orders were reopened from March 28 to April 4, 2016 to handle leftover books[5].

Books were begining to be shipped by March 21, 2016[6]. All orders were shipped out by March 31, 2016[7].

The project was declared complate on April 4, 2016, in a post in which the organizer thanked all participants and followers[8].

It’s so weird to see my own art printed in a book and seeing how I’ve improved since then. I’m so happy I was able to be a part of this! Thank you @kenzichi for organizing the @oneskykhartbook![14]

I came home to this tonight. The @oneskykhartbook ! It is just GORGEOUS! Thank you so much to everyone who participated in the project, because it’s such a treat to look through this. I was surprised by how nicely it was formatted. Great job! I commend all of you guys!

As a fanfic writer, I sometimes think about doing something similar to this (maybe in digital form like the oneskyonedestiny ones?) but including both art AND fic. It sounds like a daunting task, to coordinate with all the people contributing, and then gather it all into a nice format. But if there was enough interest in it, I’d be happy to try to work something out! (Maybe over summer when people aren’t in classes? Idk…)[15]
