Kawoosh! is a Stargate SG-1 anthology fanzine that premiered at SG5. It contained fan fiction, puzzles, trivia and even a problem page and raised £500 for charity. Oner of the stories that appeared in the zine won a Stargate SG-1 Fan Fiction Award: "Best Story in a Zine (or not available on the web): Conspiracy by Sally Reeve and Marcy (Kawoosh SG-5)."[1]
Only one issue may have been published, although a second issue was planned. From an ad listing in 2003: "Due to the success of the fanzine, we've decided to produce another edition of Kawoosh! to go on sale at Gatecon 2003. We want to make it BIGGER and BETTER than the first so we can hopefully get more fans interested and raise more money CCFF. This is where everyone reading this comes in.
For the second edition, we'd like a wider range of fanfiction involving the full range of SG-1 characters. Gen/team stories, relationship stories between any and all characters, humour stories, action/adventure stories, POV stories; long fics, short fics, drabbles.. Anything is fair play, the only thing we ask is that they're rated PG-13 or below. If we get too many submissions, the writers get the chance to have their work archived on a Kawoosh! website instead - the same goes for stories that are too long to be printed in their entirety in the fanzine - with the authors permission, the rest of the story will appear either in the Kawoosh! fanfiction archive or on InfinitelyBetter.com in their fanfiction section."[2]
