John Bennett Shaw (1913-1994) was one of the most prolific fans and authorities on the character of Sherlock Holmes and the works of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. At one time, he owned one of the largest collections of Sherlock Holmes related books and other memorabilia ("Sherlockiana"). After Shaw's death, the collection was donated to the University of Minnesota.
