Canon
In canon, receptionist Pam is engaged to warehouse worker Roy for the first two seasons while salesman Jim pines for her. Jim confesses his feelings to Pam in the season two finale, ending the episode with a kiss. At the start of season three, it's revealed that Pam turned Jim down and he transferred to the Dunder Mifflin Stamford branch, but Pam also ended her engagement with Roy. The branches merge and Jim returns to Scranton with new girlfriend Karen. At the end of season three, it seems Jim is about to take a job in New York City, but Pam makes her own confession that she called off her engagement because of Jim, and in the season three finale he returns to Scranton after his job interview and asks Pam out. In the season four premiere, it's revealed they are dating. They get engaged in season five, and are married at the beginning of season six in a special longer-length episode. They have a daughter, CeCe, in season six and a son, Philip, in season eight. Though they face some marital strife in season nine, they remain married through the end of the series.
