Jesse Cosay/Lake is a ship in the Infinity Train fandom.

Canon

Fandom

As of September 2024, Jesse Cosay/Lake is the second most popular Infinity Train ship on Archive of our Own with 239 works.[1] It is also the most popular ship for both characters.

Gender

Nominally, Lake is a mirror image of Tulip Olsen, who is a (presumed) cisgender girl. However, much of Lake's arc revolves around differentiating from Tulip, and trans readings of Lake are incredibly common.[2] Subsequently, as of September 2024, 118 Jesse/Lake works on Archive of our Own are categorized as Other, while only 93 are categorized as M/F.[1]

Fans who headcanon Lake as transgender sometimes also headcanon Jesse as gender-nonconforming or trans as well, perhaps with Jesse being inspired by Lake to examine their gender more.

Common Tropes and Headcanons

  • Jesse showing Lake the world outside the train (high school, prom, etc.)
  • Meeting middle-aged Ryan and Min-Gi/Jesse being a Chicken Choice Judy fan
