Jess Bhamra/Jules Paxton is the femslash pairing of Jesminder "Jess" Bhamra and Juliette "Jules" Paxton in the Bend It Like Beckham fandom. While non-canonical in the film, some fans felt there was considerable chemistry between the pair and that some scenes made more sense if you viewed them from the perspective of there being a budding relationship between the two of them, as opposed to the love triangle with their coach, Joe, which actually featured.
Speculation about whether the original script intended for Jess and Jules to be a couple has continued over the years, including as recently as 2022 and 2023[1]. Whether the rumours are true or not, the film was an important one for many queer viewers, especially sapphic desi viewers [2].
