Cockles is the RPF pairing of Jensen Ackles and Misha Collins. This pairing is the result of the two actors working together on the Supernatural television series, and is often connected to the Supernatural pairing of Dean/Castiel.
Fandom
The vast majority of cockles shippers who tinhat imagine Jensen, Misha, and their wives in a happy polyamorous relationship. Misha and his wife are polyamorous and have been in at least one serious polyamorous before with a woman. Misha's wife wrote about it in her book The Threesome Handbook, Archived version.
One notable theory is the cockles breakup theory, Archived version. Cockles shippers theorize Jensen and Misha got together in late 2009, and broke up for a short while when Supernatural season 7 was filming. It looked like Misha was going to be permanently removed from the show, and long distance is tough. At the con Misha appeared at during that time period, Misha looked miserable and admitted to showing up hungover. Jensen and Misha were also more distant in gag reels. When it was announced Cas would be returning to the show, Jensen seemed happy, and fans theorize they got back together by the time Vancon 2012 happened.
Fans like to focus on how Jensen and Misha share clothes sometimes.
Newer fans prefer the term jenmish to cockles. Fans who use the term jenmish are also less likely to think Jensen and Misha are actually together.
