Jane/Lisbon is the canon romantic pairing of the characters Patrick Jane and Teresa Lisbon on the television show The Mentalist. It is by far the most popular ship in the fandom.
The pairing is often referred to with the portmanteau jisbon, but due to the unfortunate associations of the word[1], some fans have opted to use jello ("J/L") instead.
Canon relationship
In interviews, both actors and writers have been very reluctant towards the idea of Jane and Lisbon becoming romantically involved, and so although Jane and Lisbon are very close in canon, their relationship is more like that of a brother and sister. There has nevertheless been some indication in canon that the characters are "a little bit in love" with each other. At the end of Season 6 Jane confesses his feelings to Lisbon and in Season 7 they are in a relationship. They get married in the series finale and it is revealed they will have a child.

A popular trope in Jane/Lisbon fanfic is Jane spending the night on Lisbon's couch, drawing from the fact that Jane lives in a motel and spends a lot of time sleeping on various couches at work.
