Some in the fandom have headcanoned Jana to be bi. On her blog Never Get Off The Bus, Debbie Moon, the creator of the show, once said in reply to a comment that she had suggested the idea of Jana being bisexual to the heads of CBBC, and they'd refused. A follow up comment in 2020 later clarified that this was an artistic decision, rather than a refusal.[1]
