The pairing of actors James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender became popular following the release of X-Men: First Class, an X-Men prequel film. Michael Fassbender/James McAvoy is the RPF equivalent of XMFC fandom's most popular slash pairing, Charles Xavier/Erik Lehnsherr. However, fan interest in this pairing extends to slashing characters that the two actors have played in other films.
McFassy fandom was very active on Tumblr, where fans posted picspams, fic, and actor-crossover animated gifs. Every Tuesday, fans wished each other a "Happy Tuesgay" and post extra picspams as a reference to a Fassbender/McAvoy interview in which McAvoy says he is drawn to Fassbender's Magneto performance "a little bit, on Tuesdays."[1]
