Jack Williamson was a prolific science fiction author. He was first published in Amazing Stories in 1928, after selling a story to Hugo Gernsback, and some of his most popular works were first serialized in Astounding Stories. Williamson was popular among early science fiction actifans. At the second-ever Worldcon, Art Widner dressed as Giles Habibula from The Legion of Space.
Williamson continued publishing into his 90s. His most frequent collaborator was fan-turned-pro Frederik Pohl.
