I’d only just read ‘Pedestal’, which is almost exactly the same plot, though it’s also a bit of a classic, so I’m not complaining. Stranded on a planet – Avon starts something he quickly realises he isn’t in control of. ‘Pedestal’ made it onto the Space City rec list, but I like this more. The relationship is warmer - and I got the impression Avon was more into it. See F&I review for my thoughts on 'Pedestal'. This is a perfectly acceptable fic.[1]
