If your interests range from ENVIRONMENT CONCERNS to SPACE EXPLORATION, the INTERNATIONAL FEDERATION OF TREKKERS gives you a forum to express YOUR Ideas, to meet others with similar interests and to learn more about what's going on. IFT's quarterly international newsletter is written by members from around the world, with real life information on the environment, space exploration, and the latest Star Trek news. But with IFT, you'll get MORE than just an official newsletter.

IFT's an ACTIVE MEMBER FAN CLUB. Local IFT chapters are created to better serve individual tastes and needs of the community. They typically meet once a month to plan trips, parties, environmental and space related events, discuss any variety of topics, and just have fun.

ENVIRONMENTALISTS: At the international level, IFT is concerned with environmental issues, the survival of all endangered species, and humanistic needs. Our members around the world share these concerns and submit articles ranging from recycling programs to endangered species legislation, from the latest oil spills to toxic household substances. Our members really get involved with civic efforts such as Blood Drives for the Red Cross, tree-planting campaigns, fund raising for public television or local disaster relief organizations, and much more.

SPACE ENTHUSIASTS: IFT is committed to promoting the exploration of space and space education. IFT Newsletter regularly reports on the space related activities from around the planet. From Japan's Long March rocket to the Soviet Union's space shuttle Buran to the unmanned probes exploring our solar system. Other space related articles range from space medicine to space shuttle radio frequencies. Local chapters sponsor field trips to space education facilities (such as NASA and The Challenger Center). Some chapters form model rocket teams, amateur radio networks, and astronomy groups.

STAR TREK FANS: Whether you favor the original series, movies, or Next Generation, you'll find something of interest in IFT! We strive to bring you current information regarding activities on and off the sets. Read the views and opinions of Star Trek fans from all around the globe. Discuss the various aspects of the Star Trek Universe" with friends at monthly meetings. And since local chapters tailor their Star Trek activities to the interests of their membership, some enjoy the roleplaylng games, detailed model building and illumination, and writing about their own fictional characters and ship histories.

Chapters frequently attend the Star Trek parties and movie premiers in costume. And during conventions many IFT members help out the Star Trek personalities in many different ways, even by taking them out for dinner.
