"International Dateline" is a The Professionals vid by zzebeddy.

Vidders notes: "The lyrics do seem to be quite open to interpretation, but have a generally pensive, or brooding air about them. The fact that they sit over the "happy" beat made it a vidding challenge and a half.....I use Corel Video Studio ProX4 and Photoshop Elements 8 (for stills)...."

Reactions/Reviews

  • "Wow, I really enjoyed this vid! The song choice was great - (first time I’ve heard that song and I really like it) - and I love the effects you used, particularly the flickering effect on some of the clips, and the numbers overlay on the screen from 1:02 through 1:06. The effect you used at 1:54 reminded me of a van Gogh painting, like Starry Night. Really beautiful vid; thanks for posting!"[1]
  • "There's a feeling of fate and upcoming doom that stirs shivers on my skin!"[2]
  • "Amazing, Professionals fanvids are entering a completely new level of quality and this is no exception."
  • "Very creative, great the way the images merge into one another. It always amazes me how all you vidders come up with new ideas Well done my dear!! :)"[3]
  • "Cool Vid--I like that she doesn't use the same shots many vidders use, since she didn't need B and D to be next to each other always. There's a definite sense of being watched, encased, closed in."[4]
  • "Nice to see a vid that was new to me, and very moody it is too. I like that the vidder has used a lot of clips that don't tend to turn up repeatedly in every second vid."
  • "This vid is new to me. I love the different visual effects zzebeddy has used as well as the diversity of the images. It's a fabulous illustration of the breadth of the remit of CI5. Ta for sharing this!"[5]
  • "Very smart vid! I remember this when it came out, but I don't think I've watched it since, so thanks for the reminder. I tend to think of it as a "gen" vid, I guess, because it's not really Bodie/Doyle, but their life in CI5 and the spy side of things. Which is interesting in its own right, and nice to think about now and then, but not ultimately why I watch Pros, which I suppose is why I haven't given this alot of play time. It's a great song as well though, very moody. Cheers!" [6]
  • "Epic video. Edgy, moody and quite risky. I love all the odd angles and out of kilter shots and the way they mount up to give a disconcerting atmosphere. I love watching the show through the vidder's eyes. It's like a French art house film! The lads and Cowley are dangerous and in control in a pared back, gritty world. Class act. :)" [7]
  • "It's everything everyone else has already said. Potted Pros - and for me a huge part of the love is the cars and carnage. So this vid, which concentrates on the series vibe, is a real treasure for me. Like Heinz used to say (and still allude to on their tins) 57 varieties represented in one can." [8]
