Genesis of the project - Or storytime with Elo

Once upon a time— Yeah okay, no, I promise I'll make it short(ish). As often, I was busy screaming at Lanlan about zines in general and I started to formulate the idea that now that I made my Dabi zine, I would love to create a Hawks one. Lanni being an awful enabler, she pushed me to do it. Many Vogue, Marie-Claire, GQ and Vanity Fair later, the concept of Indulge came to life. And then Clara arrived with her impeccable taste and amazing ideas and not only did she give the zine its visual identity, she also gave it its name. This project is the meeting of our shared passion for the Bird™, our love for pretty things, and our tendency to always Indulge ourselves.

Are you coming?

The project was first announced on October 10, 2021 through Twitter. Interest Checks opened on October 15 and closed on October 31, 2021. Contributors could begin applying from November 5 to December 6, 2021.

Preorders opened on April 28, 2022 with the following pricing tiers:

• Sleeping-In ($15 USD) - Digital Zine
• Afternoon in a coffee shop ($30 USD) - Physical Zine, Digital Zine
• Take the day off ($25 USD) - Postcards, Sticker sheet, Die-cut Stickers, Stretch Goals
• Weekend Escapade ($45 USD) - Physical Zine, Digital Zine, Postcards, Sticker sheet, Die-cut Stickers, Stretch Goals

Stretch goals included a dog tag at 50 orders, a memopad at 80 orders, a beanie at 120 orders, and an undisclosed item at 150 orders. A giveaway for a full bundle and a digital zine ran from May 30 to June 2, 2022. The winners were Twitter users Pyra_Arts and bakaittoyan. Preorders closed on June 6, 2022, with a reported total of over 100 orders, although digital sales continnued to the end of the project.

Leftovers ran from September 16 to October 16, 2022.
