In The Heights is a Broadway musical by Lin-Manuel Miranda. It follows the lives of several people in a barrio in Washington Heights, New York. It is narrated by Usnavi De La Vega, a small bodega owner whose life is tangled with his neighbors. The musical follows the lives of the people in this barrio over three days as their lives all get tossed upside down as there is a death in the neighborhood and someone wins the lottery. Its score contains strong elements of salsa, hip-hop, and merengue.
