In Camera: A TGAA Pinup Zine is digital zine featuring pinups of characters from the Great Ace Attorney Duology.

About

An interest check for nonprofit, a pinup and erotica zine for The Great Ace Attorney opened on October 29, 2022[1]. Contributions would be allowed to be NSFW to any degree, so long as the work is canon-compliant[2][3]. Interest checks were expected to be complete on November 30th, but in an announcement on November 7, 2023, the zine was briefly put on hold due to events in the head mod's personal life, and interest checks were extended to December 31, 2023[4][5]. A full interest check report posted on January 6, 2023, stated that 53 responses were submitted[6].

Mod applications for a graphics mod, production and shipping mod, and a Japanese communications mod opened from January 2 to January 16, 2023[7]. Contributor applications opened from February 1 to March 15, 2023, for potential writers, cover and page artists, and merch artists[8]. Application results were sent out on March 21, 2023[9].

The project opened its itch.io page for orders on August 31, 2023, featuring a digital zine pdf and booklet, printable sticker, uncensored pinup prints, coloring page, and template for a paper standee, all for the cost of $15 USD[10]. The zine was originally meant to be on sale until October 31, 2023, but was later extended to November 7th[11].

Along with the sales extension came an additional announcement that proceeds would be donated proportionately to the Palestine Children's Relief Fund (PCRF) and the alQaws for Sexual & Gender Diversity in Palestinian Society. Supporters could vote on how to allocate the funds through a Google Form[12]. The organizers reported a total of $111.65 USD raised for charity with a voted 20.7% to donate to alQaws and 79.3% to PCRF[13]. Receipts for donations were posted on the same day: €222.84 EUR to alQaws and $811.54 USD to PCRF[14].

Engagement Campaigns

The project's social media account often made posts keeping track of how many followers were gained over the course of the project. To boost engagement and spread awareness of the zine, the organizers hosted a strip meme. Starting on November 7, 2023, each new post announcement would include a new illustration of Kazuma Asougi in increasingly less clothing, provided that each new post would receive a specific number of likes and retweets[15]. The campaign culminated in a full nude illustration of the character that could be viewed on popiku[16].

During the contributor application period, a second strip meme was hosted beginning on February 14, 2023, this time featuring Ryuunosuke Naruhodou[17]. The final and fully nude illustration of the character was posted on March 15, 2023, coinciding with the end of applications[18].
