I'm Not Saying is a Jim/Blair story by Donna Jones.
Author Comments
It was the last Sentinel story I wrote, and I put my heart and soul into it.... The dissertation always fascinated me. They both seemed so surprised at the other's reaction to it. And I wanted to write a story where they were already in a relationship at the time, and how the diss would effect that.[1]
Reactions and Reviews
Yum. Lots of fighting and bickering that felt very in character, as they almost make up, but really just paper over their issues, so that the next annoyance brings the whole damn thing up again....[2]
I’m Not Saying takes place shortly after Jim snuck a peek at Blair’s introductory dissertation chapter in "Night Watch," and presents one of the best portrayals of their relationship troubles I’ve read. Donna Jones shows them at their angry, snappish best, and doesn’t magic away the reasons for their conflicts, which go unresolved at story’s end.[3]
