Reactions and Reviews
This is a wonderful retelling of The Sentinel episode “Cypher” set in 15th Century England, during the life and times of William Shakespeare. Historical references, including the slang of the time, have been well researched and help to transport the reader back in time. Not being a student of English history, and knowing Jim and Blair were taken out of Cascade to populate a historical romance gave me pause, but once I started reading, I found it hard to put down this enchanting story. The author weaves canon show references throughout the narrative, keeping us grounded in Sentinel lore, while at the same time weaving a tale of suspense and romance. Despite being taken out of their place and time, the characters retain much of their original personalities, making this a joy to read. [1]
