Holkie, AKA Holly Kim Wilson, AKA Tod_Hollykim, was a fan and major supporter of the Metalocalypse fandom. She was a fanfic author and fan-contributor who held a significant presence on every major Metalocalypse fan community. She died on December 10th, 2020. [1]
She was best known for creating and contributing to popular Metalocalypse LiveJournal blog, The Dethklok Minute (TDM), named after the show-within-a-show Dethklok-focused gossip program. Series director Jon Schnepp, who was a friend and had often been a source of insider information for TDM, selected Holkie as one of his "talent scouts" when recruiting donations of fanart for the Metalocalypse episode, "Fanklok".[2]
Fanfiction
Holkie's best known work within the Metalocalypse fandom was The Ganymede Tales, an 18-part epic featuring popular ships, as well as pairings between canon and original characters. She has also written several crossover fics featuring the cast of Metalocalypse and Final Fantasy VII, as well as several fanfics revolving around the real-life-fantasy band, KISS.
Janet, Klokateer #1195
One of Holkie's best-known and loved contributions to the Metalocalypse fandom was a Klokateer by the name of Janet Strickland. She was often featured in Holkie's fan-works, with images of this prominent OC being drawn by several fanartists within the community, and fanfic writers often featuring her in their stories. Even posthumously, she remains one of the fandom's most beloved original characters.
In Memoriam
Upon learning of her death, fans not only helped with funds for Holkie's funeral, but penned several tributes to their friend on personal blogs and community forums. Prominent texts from last night Metalocalypse parody, Texts From Mordhaus wrote a compelling letter asking fans to never forget her contributions to the fandom, with hopes to gain enough momentum to have her memorialized in the canon in some fashion.[3] The opening panels to Dethkomic contain a text box dedicating the whole of the series to her.
