hoknes.com was a for-profit company that sold "fanzines" for old television shows.
It appears to have been run by Terry Hoknes who published Ape Chronicles.
From the website:
We put out a full line of Fanzine Magazines paying special tribute to the greatest TV series of the pastYou have bought the DVD box set - now have the perfect resource companion to use as a reference!
Paying tribute to the great classic TV shows of the past is our specialty!
The website was this mess: FANZINE - FANZINES - CLASSIC TV - SCI-FI / ADVENTURE.
The zines consisted of swiped content from many internet sites, including Fanfiction.net.
The Starsky & Hutch zine had this disclaimer:
All materials contained in this fanzine are copyright 2004 of each writer from internet sources and may not be copied without permission.
It is unclear if permissions were given by the original creators; they certainly weren't obtained from www.imdb.com, www.tvtome.com, or www.epquides.com.
Despite warning fans that they couldn't copy "without permission," that exactly what this company did.
