Hide and Seek is a Blake's 7 story by Kate Singer.
It was published in the zine Evasive Maneuvers.
This story remained unfinished. A fan in Rallying Call #13 (April 1995) says that the author's computer was stolen in 1994 and with it all her fanfic.
Reactions and Reviews
Described on the title page as "Post A/B A/T" and on its own first page as "An excerpt from a series of B7 novel(la)s in progress." Alas, rumor has it that the author has left fandom, so we may never see the rest. But I'm still hoping for a miracle of some sort, because it's a terrific story. In what I assume is early third season, Tarrant seduces Avon (without much difficulty, since the interest is mutual). The sex is red-hot for the reader, and at first, for them; but it all goes wrong, because Avon still wants Blake instead, and Tarrant is smart enough to realize what the problem is. A really interesting example of a good story with bad sex! Lovely descriptions of Tarrant from Avon's POV, and a nice angsty tone throughout.[1]
Equally bleak is the A/T story Hide and Seek by Kate Singer, an excerpt from a novella in progress but it reads perfectly well on its own. I felt quite moved by this one, despite the fact that I usually find Tarrant very tiresome.[2]
