Hearts Intertwined is a series of zines centered around the pairing VanVen (Vanitas/Ventus) from the Kingdom Hearts games.

Volume 1

About

The zine's social media account opened interest checks from November 15 to November 22, 2019[1]. The organizers reported overwhelming response to the interest check[2]. Applications for artists and writers opened from November 24 to December 14, 2019[3]. Results were sent out on December 18th[4].

Prior to preorders opening, a giveaway for a physical copy of the zine was run from February 27 to February 29, 2020[5]. The winner of this giveaway was Twitter user twizzlerstrider[6].

Sales opened on March 2, 2020[7]. Physical copies could be bought on blurb for $22.35 USD, and digital copies could be downloaded for free from the zine's standalone website.

A year after the release of the first volume, a second volume was made.

About

The zine's social media account resumed activities i late November 2021, later announcing the second volume on November 24, 2021[9]. Applications opened to artists, writers, and visual artists from December 1 to December 22, 2021[10]. Results were sent out on December 29, 2021[11].

In the announced contributors post on August 25, 2022, the project reported 52 creators, 32 artists and 20 writers[12].

The zine was released on April 30, 2023, available for free in digital format and purchasable in physical format[13]. Prints, stickers, and other merchandise items made by creators working on the zine were also sold at cost on RedBubble.
