HeartCatch Precure! ran from 2010 to 2011, and was part of the fifth generation of Precure. This series' motifs are flowers and fashion. It ran for 49 episodes. This series is highly popular due to its unique art style, darker plot elements, and introduced the "aloof purple Cure" archetype as seen in Cure Moonlight.

After the defeat of the Pretty Cure leaves only Cure Moonlight alive, it is up to Tsubomi Hanasaki and Erika Kurumi to become 'Cures' and fight against the Desert Apostles.

Like other Precure seasons, yuri ships dominate the fandom. Ships such as Cure Blossom/Cure Marine, which may be seen as opposites attract, due to the shy nature of Cure Blossom and the outgoing personality of Cure Marine at the beginning of the series. Further, they start the series as a duo and as such foster a close relationship with each other when compared to other characters in the show.
