Harvest Moon, later known as Story of Seasons, is a farming simulation role-playing video game series created by Yasuhiro Wada and published by Marvelous Interactive.

The main objective of the game is to rebuild a run-down old farm and turn it into a successful one. Over a period of time the player tends to crops and livestock, befriends nearby townsfolk, and eventually (in some series) gets married and starts a family. The first game was Harvest Moon, released for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1996.

Modding

Harvest Moon has a small modding community. One of the most well known mods is the "True Love Edition" which was originally created for Friends of Mineral Town. The mod allowed male player character to marry other male characters, and female player character to marry other female characters.[1] It went on to inspire similar mods for other Harvest Moon games.[2]
