A screencap of the community as it appeared on December 26, 2016.

Hanson @ LJ is the largest Hanson community on LiveJournal for general news and discussion of the band.

Discussion of hanfic was at one time limited to one promotional post per user per week, and incest has been a hot button topic at certain times, but has specifically not been banned. The community's founder had this to say about her decision to allow hancest fics to be posted:

And that is what I believe. I don't think there needs to be any kind of blatant censorship in this community just because a few people disagree with the topic at hand.

I know that there are those of you who are "100% Christian" (as harleybuc05 said in her post) and therefore think that incest and thus Hancest are wrong. And I know that there are also those of you who object to Hancest not because of your religious beliefs but just because it doesn't do anything for you. And all these reasons are fine! If you don't want to read the fic, that is totally cool and it's your prerogative.

But that doesn't mean that it shouldn't be posted in hanson.[1]

Filesharing (that is, sharing Hanson music) is prohibited and is punishable by banning; this is a typical stance for Hanson websites/forums as Hanson occasionally crack down on websites known to share bootleg mp3s and videos.

As of January 16, 2018, the community has 3252 members.
