Hands-On Science is a Stargate Atlantis John/Rodney story by Nindulgence.
It is an sga flashfic and a high school AU.

This is the first of my favorite stories from the School Challenge at sga_flashfic last November. High School AU. Fun. So Rodney even if it's High School!Rodney. High maintenance even as a teenager. John's hiding his intelligence but gets sucked in by the tornado that is Rodney. Funny, in character, even if it's stretching in a bit with the senior class trip to Toronto but still very funny, intelligent and unexpected. [1]
"Hands-On Science" by Nindulgence is a high school-set AU in which a young John meets a young Rodney while on a class trip in Canada. The summary of "The guy's name was Rodney McKay and touring the Science Centre with him was like having a backstage pass" fits very well. The details of the centre and the 80s thrown in make a big difference, and the sheer love of science infuses the story. And of course passing tests from Rodney would have him trying to run your life.
