HPRecycleBin is a Harry Potter Yahoo! group for finding and sharing lost fanfiction.

The group closed to all new messages and file uploads in May 2010. As of October 2019, the group is still online but private and with membership by invitation only. Messages are set to moderator-only and message archives are not viewable to normal members. Files are still available to members but new files cannot be uploaded. The last file added was on May 31, 2010.

As of July 29, 2009, the group had 7,795 members. At that time, group membership did not require approval and messages were public.

harry_potter2007, HPslashficsearch, and HPSlashRecycleBin are some successors that follow the same model.

Group Description

This group is dedicated to sharing fanfics that have been deleted from their host sites.

DISCLAIMER

The owner of this group do not own any of the fiction posted here. All stories are public property and as such they are open to public sharing, so long as their integrity is kept intact. This archive will never host stories against their author's wishes.

POSTING

Before posting a story, it is recommended to compress it into a ZIP or RAR archive. Name the archive using the following template:

(fic name) by (author) - (rating).(zip or rar)

To post a story on this group, click on "Add file" in the FILES section, or click here. It is recomended to post all the info you have about the file, including the summary. File comment should be like this:

Chapters (x-y), (file type and appearance), (summary and other comments)

If file comment is too limited for this, please add a separate file info file into the archive, using the template provided in Files/Tools section.

REQUESTING

Please title your request messages like this:

[REQ] (The name of the fic) by (author)

In the message body, try to specify as much information about the story as possible.

REMOVING

If an author wishes to remove their story from this archive, please post a message with your request or send an e-mail to one of the admins.
