Girlsies is a name used in the Newsies fandom to refer to newsgirls. It follows the same -sies naming convention as Fansies, as well as the names given to different versions of the production (92sies, Livesies, Toursies, etc.).
Members of the Newsies Broadway cast performed a "Girlsies' Song" at 54 Below in August 2014.[1] Actress Stephanie Styles was quoted as dividing the tour's cast into "newsies, oldsies and girlsies" in 2015.[2] Promotional Instagram posts for the 2016 tour used the hashtag #Girlsies.[3]
2017 saw the Marriot Theatre cast call the newsgirls "newSHEs."[4]
