Con Report

GENDACON '83, Oct. 28-29, featured James Doohan, George Takei, and Nichelle Nichols. They shared many personal stories with us.

Many of the questions were about the upcoming movie, but they were careful not to give much away. We got autographs and had pictures taken--each one of the stars were gracious and generous with their time, answering questions or making jokes. Their personalities flowed forth giving us all a glimpse of the real person who molded, shaped9 and created the characters we have known and loved.

NASA really outdid itself with an array of films and displays that could be enjoyed all through the day.

For a few hours we were all one. Not star and fan, but just a group of people who had come together in a bond of friendship and love. This is my special thanks to James Doohan just for being there and just for being himself. I enjoyed meeting him. His charm is spellbinding. I wish him happiness and peace for the rest of his years. If you're reading this, Jimmy, thanks for the fond memories!
