Garibaldi & Co. was a Babylon 5 fan club with a focus on the character of Michael Garibaldi.
The club was formed at the straddle of online and print.
From a Flyer
"Mr. Garibaldi. Something's coming through the jump gate!
"Mr. Garibaldi. It's big!"
"Wa' the Hell.......!"
It's GARIBALDI & COMPANY! The Michael Garibaldi/Jerry Doyle/B5 media group.
WELCOME to GARIBALDI & CO., the media group that holds cynicism, humor, and irreverences as virtues and refuses to take itself too seriously, Folks, I have received your responses and I have read them. They were filled with the perfect balance of enthusiasm and sarcasm and a virtual dearth of ideas and suggestions for the group and the newsletter. Things are definitely getting off to a good start.
I have heard from Mr. Doyle and the group thing is cool with him. He is very nice and has offered to help the group in any way he can. We do have an "official" mailing address as well as an "official" e-mail address...."
The group has over 95 members so far and more folks are joining daily. The first newsletter was out September 2 and there are several other things in the works. We are on-line with regularly scheduled (Sundays at 12noon PDT) chat sessions on AOL and a second season premiere party is scheduled for November 5th at the Clarion Inn at Totem Lake. This group is designed to allow members to participate fully and play full out. Your comments, suggestions and views are encouraged and valued. You will find that the newsletter is both informative and thought provoking. You'll be asked to respond to questions and engage in inquires (I suggest you invest in some stamps if you're not an e-mail user) and I invite you to speak freely. I am committed to this being a safe environment to share ideas, explore alternate viewpoints, exercise your mind, and let your sense of humor have free reign. Your jokes, cartoons, art work, news flashes, and editorial are welcome, please. So again, welcome, and enjoy and thanks for joining.
Please fill out the following questionnaire. It will help me design and distribute the newsletter and future aspects of the group. If there is any information that you provide in the questionnaire that you do not want to be made available to other members of the group, please enclose it in asterisks, (ie" occupation *undercover police officer*) and I will keep it confidential. All nonconfidential information may be included in future missives and newsletters. Have fun with the questionnaire.
All right, while you're hard at work filling these out, I'll start in on the next edition of the newsletter. If anyone has any articles, jokes, art, or other material that they would like to see included in the newsletter, send it to me asap, and I'll fit it in. All future submittals for the newsletter should be into me by the 15th of each odd (how fitting) month. Thanks.
