From the Author's Preface
Several months ago, my friend Annie who wrangled me into such fandoms as The Sentinel and Due South, told me about this new show called The Invisible Man. Now, I'd seen ads on Sci Fi Channel, and while it looked impressive with all the cool special effects and so on, I just had no interest. I was already up to my ears in fandoms, and didn't need another (where have we heard that before?).
Annie was persistent. She'd tell me about the show in emails, what she liked about it. Finally, I said okay. I'll look into it. If I like it. I'll watch but purely as entertainment I told Annie not to expect any stories or art out of me for it.
The first episode I caught was "Ralph." For those not familiar with titles, Darien has to pretend to be the imaginary friend of a little girl who witnessed a murder. Having been one of those kids who had an invisible buddy, I got choked up at the end. That was it. I was hooked.

As for slash — hey. It's there. The actors themselves have a rapport that is incredible, and it translates so well into the characters. They've given the slash fans a lot to work with. You just have to see it to believe it.
On aside note, I would like to say that I was halfway through writing this novel when I found out about Camryn Manheim's starring role as a standup comedian in the ABC TV movie, "Kiss My Act." Talk about psychic premonitions! I considered going through my story again to change some of the parallels, so no one would think I just copied her character, but then I just decided "fuck it," and left it alone.
