Flyboys is a Star Wars Sequel Trilogy fanfiction written by gefionne. This fic is a Historical AU set during World War II, and pairs RAF pilot Armitage Hux with American pilot Ben Solo.
This fic was very popular with Kylux fans, inspiring fans to create art, moodboards and cosplay.

Do you love a historical AU that’s true to the time period without feeling over described -and also feels like it should immediately become a BBC miniseries that you’d obsess over? Then this WWII fic is for you. Kylo and Hux are part of the Royal Air Force, and I can’t stress enough how engaging this fic is. I’m always reluctant to read things just because other people say I should-- but THIS. This one, though. The WWII British Royal Air Force AU that deserves all the fandom hype it receives for how good it is. The world building and emotional slow build is so so satisfying. I’m still reading through this and loving every minute![2]
I stayed away from it for a very, very long time because I don’t enjoy reading WW II AUs (I’m German, so go figure). But this, OMG, I heard so much about it and saw so many outstanding, beautiful pieces of artwork about it so I downloaded it and started reading. And what can I say…it blew me away.[3]

There're so many. But I'll always cherish "Flyboys" by Gefionne. It was one of the first fics I read in English. And oh God... I fell in love with English as much as I fell for her wonderful writing[5]
