Flights of Fancy is a gen Dragonriders of Pern newsletter issued by the Sable Weyr, a group based out of Birmingham, AL from 1985-1997.
Flights of Fancy had 29 published issues before the club folded.
Issue 1
Flights of Fancy 1 was published post-June 1, 1985, exact date unrecorded, edited by Mary S. It contained two articles, one by Mary S, one by Robert C on "Creating an Organization", a convention report on Deep South Con in Huntsville, AL (June 20-23, 1985), a poem, and a story by Mary S, "Beginnings". It was 9 pages long, some double-sided, some single.
Issue 2
Flights of Fancy 2 was published in October 1985. It contained two stories, "First Impressions" by Mary S, and "Excerpts From "Diary of Tannin, Apprentice Harper" by Jim M, a listing of upcoming local conventions, a article by Susan H on "Latest Book Releases", a poem, drawings of the Weyr badge, persona profiles, a convention advertisement, and a prose poem credited to "D'gon, Mandeth's rider", aka Mark W. The zine was 14 mimeographed, single-sided pages, and very difficult to read.

Issue 17
Flights of Fancy 17 was published in February 1992. It contained 40 articles (a mix of out of character (OOC) messages, stories, and poems) across 144 pages.
