Finnish Fullmetal Alchemist Fansite, or better known as FFAF, was a Finnish discussion board dedicated to Fullmetal Alchemist. It had different sections for Fullmetal Alchemist manga and anime conversations, fanart, fanfiction, other manga and anime, as well as offtopic conversation.
The name Finnish Fullmetal Alchemist Fansite (and FFAF) was originally held by a site hosted on webs.com and founded in July 2006 by Retsku-san, who claimed it to be the oldest Finnish Fullmetal Alchemist website that was still running in 2007. The name of the site had since been changed to "Transmuting Circle".[1]
The original FFAF forums were hosted on the Finnish forum hosting site foorumi.info, and this is the time period when the forum was at its most active, as the first Fullmetal Alchemist anime was airing on Finnish TV at the time. The site had a large amount of Finnish FMA fan material on it, ranging from conversations to fanfiction. However, foorumi.info shut down in 2013, and the site has been lost since then.
Well before the closing of foorumi.info, in 2008, FFAF had moved to a new host on phpbbserver.com. The new website was a bit slower in activity compared to the old one, but it still hosted many FMA stories and art. With phpbbserver.com shutting down abruptly without a word in 2014, the new site was also gone.
The FFAF-foorumi deviantArt community still exists, and is the only thing of the site still online. It uses the logo of the new forum as its icon. The fanworks of the users that decided to crosspost their work on deviantArt can still be found on there.
