I chose this part for two reasons:

It was the suggestion of the author.

I remembered the final part of "The Boy in the Striped Pajamas", where Bruno, the concentration camp commander’s son, is killed accidentally in the gas chamber with the Jewish prisoners, with his father arriving too late to prevent that. While he screams and runs desperately through the camp, Bruno’s mother and sister, seeing his clothes near the fence and knew that he was already dead, scream and cry in a way so horrible that my initial thoughts ("Now you know how all other mothers and fathers felt, bitch!") have been replaced by pity. The feeling that Duncan was discovered by his daughter made him realize the pain he had inflicted on so many human beings.

I used as reference a photo of the SS staff hospital in Auschwitz, and haven’t found photos at the same angle of the picture above. So I had to use my imagination. I tried to make the room look gloom and dirty, seemingly abandoned. The cot is soiled with blood stains.

I still torture myself for not having designed at least one strand of Channa’s hair so people could EVEN MORE EASILEY notice that Duncan is holding a baby and not a sack of potatoes. But what will be will be! That's what I get for making an image without references enough! Courtney is lying almost in the same position she had just given birth. I think the body is too short, but what the hell, I will not redo it again. She has her face bruised and short hair is dirty and itchy. The clothing and the mattress are splattered with blood. Of course, a birth without medical supervision is a mess...
