Fightsticks or Arcade Sticks are personalised controllers used in certain gaming communities, most prominently in the Fighting Game Community. These laptop-sized controllers are designed to replicate the controls on arcade cabinets. They are often customised to the player's needs and preferences.

Building

Fightsticks are bought as off-the-shelf "stock" peripherals before undergoing modification. While there are companies that can build custom sticks, many enthusiasts build and maintain their own sticks. Different sticks, buttons, and gates (that change how the sticks rotate) are selected to accommodate the owner's playstyle, and lights can be installed for flair. Some more complicated builds have programmed macro buttons.

Artwork

Fightstick owners often Commission custom artwork for their stick, usually depicting their Main. If the stick has a Plexiglas sheet over the artwork, sometimes this may be laser-etched, adding another layer to designs.
