Fanime, officially FanimeCon, is an annual San Francisco Bay Area anime convention first held in 1994. It features panels, a game room, an artist alley, cosplay, and many other fan activities common to anime conventions. Since 2004 it has been held at San Jose McEnery Convention Center in San Jose, California.

#FailedByFanime

In February of 2024, a number of convention staff quit, creating the #FailedByFanime movement. They called for a boycott of Fanime, citing poor treatment and mishandling of sexual assault and sexual harassment reports.[1] In March 2024, the Board of Directors issued a public statement, and in April, they revised the code of conduct to be more clear. #FailedByFanime feels there is more to be done.
