Fandom Is Just a Goddamn Hobby, usually abbreviated to FIJAGH, was originally used to describe what one thought about fandom (as opposed to FIAWOL, or "Fandom Is a Way of Life"). Over the years the acronym has shifted to become an adjective people use to describe themselves and their relationship with fandom: "We tried living together, but she's FIAWOL, and I'm FIJAGH - it just didn't work out."

Someone who is FIJAGH has a fairly casual relationship with fandom, dipping in and out and generally not interested in helping to create fannish infrastructure. FIJAGH folks don't generally volunteer to help with cons, or moderate discussion forums, or run fic challenges, etc. They simply enjoy participating when the mood strikes, but easily move on to other interests.

Many people shift back and forth between the two extremes as interest waxes and wanes, and as time allows; many also exist fairly steadily somewhere in the middle.

The term originated in Science Fiction Fandom, in response to FIAWOL.
