Con Report
A number of Star Trek: The Original Series episodes were shown at the con, as one Star Trek fan noted:
Everything went well this year at Faircon - the video room was fairly large with 4 TV sets showing simultaneously and with a video recorder for each system, i.e. Philips, Betamax and VHS, We certainly managed to show a few episodes - on Saturday ALL OUR YESTERDAYS, THOLIAN WEB, PLATO'S STEPCHILDREN (though the copy of this was poor as it was from a U.S. tape), the interviews from SWAP SHOP and the THREE OF A KIND spoof of STAR TREK. On Saturday evening they showed I MUDD, SPOCK'S BRAIN and MARK OF GIDEON as part of the main programme and they also showed ST-TMP. On the Sunday we showed RETURN OF THE ARCHONS, THIS SIDE OF PARADISE, WHERE NO MAN HAS GONE BEFORE and DAGGER OF THE MIND. Several of us collected at [name redacted's] house in the evening when nothing great was on and watched ST to our hearts content. The bookroom didn't have much ST, most of us just filled in our Starlog/ Starburst collections although there were a few copies of 'Entrophy Effect' and 'Death's Angel' about the place. Next year's FAIRCON is to be held in the Central Hotel. [1]
