Face Claim is a term for the person who a fan chooses to be the visual representation of a fictional characters. Face claims are generally actors, celebrities, or models; they may or may not be the actors who plays a character in canon. Face claims are used commonly for online roleplay and original characters, as well as fanvids.
In the Hunger Games fandom, face claims are important when it comes to SYOTs. Many authors create a blog and ask submitters to send a photo of their tributes. The photo is usually of an actor, actress or model. Some authors extend the face claims to SYOT characters that are not tributes, such as escorts, mentors or even Gamemakers.
