Reactions and Reviews

Her Jim and Blair behave like guys and talk like guys - they *are* guys in the best sense of the word. Although her stories aren't exactly new, her characterization is still one of the most refreshing breaks you can get from girly-Blair and caveman-Jim. The way Jim and Blair come together in this story is probably the least spectacular one you'll ever find and in this case it is a good thing. You can use it anytime as an antidote to an overdose of too much sweet!fic.[1]

I was going to say that this was a lovely story, but lovely is just not the right word. It's funny, it has great dialog, and it features two guys who have finally decided that it's time to go forward and who just found the time and place to do so. The set-up is that it happens as a spur-of-the-moment thing, but the text underneath says it's something they both knew was going to happen, and for some time now.[2]

There was surprisingly little comment on the lists when Laura H. Valentine produced a new Sentinel story, Exsuscitatus after a long time dallying in Harry Potter fandom. But lack of comment or not, this is a delight, and throws the medicority of the current crop of offerings into sharp and unflattering relief. It's a simple 'guy knows guy wants the guy, but will they or won't they?' story, but the thing about this is the sharp observation and sparkling humour which is lacking from so much of Sentinel, and fanfic in general....a delight.[3]
