Reactions and Reviews

2005

And now I must talk about Vehemently's (that's vee_fic, also) marvelously titled Eurydice Turns Left. Seriously, you should read it just for the title, but if not that, then read for amazing team adventure, extraordinary characters and some brilliant OCs, and by that you should understand that they are not only interesting, but some of them are really smart experts in their fields and she writes them all, military, scientist, alien, really well. Sheppard is marvelous, the planet fascinating, the actions and reactions of each character marvelous. SGA, gen, PG-13, S2. Really Good. Go read it.[1]

2006

Why this must be read: A long, beautifully atmospheric mission-gone-bad, with a creepy central premise, good action, serious tension, and great characterisation. This is one of my favourite misadventure stories in the fandom.[2]

2013

Why This Must Be Read: Like the author says, it's "An adventure story. An extremely deep drama. A deathmarch."

I like it because yes, it's everything the author promises. A thrilling story, full of suspense in a creepy setting with unusual "villains" - plus likeable, vivid OCs and the occasional opportunity for a laugh.

Ronon is the only one who isn't captured by the enemy while the rest of the people who went on the mission with him are caught and have to fight for their survival - including John, Rodney and Teyla. The story expands the term "team" from the usual understanding of a core team to the whole captured group and shows the true meaning of "team" beautifully.

I also like the various POVs in which the story is told and how they are distincly different from each other - especially Ronon's since it's an early-mid season 2 story and though he's still not very familiar with Atlantis, his thoughts and actions show how much he already feels as a part of the Atlantis-team.[3]
