Ephemeral Flower is a charity zine dedicated to the character Marluxia from the Kingdom Hearts games.

About

Interest checks opened on August 16, 2020, and closed on August 30, 2020. Mod applications ran from September 6 to September 27, 2020. Applications opened for artists, writers, merch artists, and cosplayers on October 18, 2020, until November 22, 2020. Contributor acceptance emails were sent out on December 6, 2020.

Preorders opened on June 6, 2021, with the following pricing tiers:

• Forgotten Memories ($15 USD) - Digital Zine, Coloring Page, Icons, Phone Wallpapers
• Separated Dandelions ($20 USD) - Physical Zine, Digital Zine, Digital Merch, Optional Bundle Upgrades
• Deadly Gardens ($30 USD) - Physical Zine, Digital Zine, Mini Print, Sticker Sheet, Digital Merch, Optional Bundle Upgrades, All Stretch Goals
• Forbidden Roase ($45 USD) - Heart Button, Mini Print, Stickers, Acrylic Charm, Sticker Sheet, Enamel Pin, Digital Merch, Optional Bundle Upgrades, All Stretch Goals
• Assassin's Heart ($55 USD) - Physical Zine, Digital Zine, Heart Button, Mini Print, Stickers, Acrylic Charm, Sticker Sheet, Enamel Pin, Digital Merch, Optional Bundle Upgrades, All Stretch Goals

Fans who bought the "Assassin's Heart" bundle had the option to add a bracelet to their orders for $11 USD. For all physical bundles, buyers could add perfumed rose petals to their package for free. An offer was also given to the first ten physical orders. Stretch goals included a holo upgrade to the heart button at 25 sales, holo upgrade to the mini print at 50 sales, and an acrylic charm at 75 sales.

A giveaway for a full bundle with a bracelet and flower crown ran from July 20, 2021, to August 4, 2021. Preorders were expected to end July 6, 2021, but were extended to August 3, 2021.

Shipping of physical orders began approximately after April 14, 2022. Digital bundles were sent out on May 21, 2022. Leftover sales ran from August 30 to September 30, 2022.

The zine reached its conclusion on October 17, 2022, with a donation announcement of $742 USD to Trees, Water, and People, which followers voted for early in the zine's production.
