Edwin Payne, spelt Edwin Paine in the comics, is a fictional main character in the DC comics Dead Boy Detectives series, and is portrayed by George Rexstrew in the Netflix television series.
Canon
Edwin is a school boy from the 1910s who is sacrificed to a demon and taken to Hell on a technicality. After 70 years, he escapes and meets Charles Rowland, who is dying (cause of death varies by canon) at the same school. After Charles's death they become friends and escape Death to become detectives that help other ghosts stuck on Earth.
