do you remember some of those stories from the early 70's. i started in late 72 or 73 and have been a fan till the end. i am real interested in the storylines before i started watching.

i'd say that the show was probably at its best(in the later years) during the period of 77-80 especially, when they were kicking out great story after great story. could anyone have figured out that dr norwood had killed denise, or that winter actually did kill wade. how about the paige madison story w/ tobias and then the mansion of the damned and...

i could go on and on...

i met henry slesar last night at his book signing. he was very cordial and friendly. it was a very "intimate" store (read small). there were about 20 people crammed in there on line to have henry sign the books. he is on his way to australia for more book promotion. he was concerned about his traveling and being able to post the episodes of love kills on the net on time. there wasnt much time to get into deep conversation with him since there were 20 other people standing there hanging on to every word. i guess i didnt want to sound like a star struck fan. i probably did anyway.

hope to hear from yall....

The Edge of Night mailing list is now up to 11 members. It really began to increase shortly after I posted the URL on the homepage guestbook. (Perhaps I can get the html provided by Onelist.com posted there as well????)

Some of you have not yet taken the time to introduce yourselves to us. C'mon! Don't be shy! You're among friends, here! Drop us a line when you get a chance!

On a previous note, I inquired about attempting a USA-Network blitz about reviving the EON reruns, and got a positive response. Does anyone have any experience with such a write-in campaign?

Do we want to send a number of standardized letters, or should we all just individually compose our own? At the Babylon 5 Fan Club site (http://www.thestation.com), a number of us had suggestions for improvements to their bulletin board section. In order to "get organized" we started an e-mail "letter to the fan club," and sent it around for several days, each adding suggestions, via email, eventually coming up with a letter that we all "signed" to send. We actually were successful in implementing several changes that way.

Let's hear everyone's views on this!

The viewers want their veteran actors and use of their respective shows histories. I think we understand their comes a time when they can't be front-burner, but they should still an important presence. Finally, Chris Goutman gets it, but still has a long way to go.

having those tapes today is something I thank USA network for where EON is concerned. They say you don't get second chances but because USA chose to rerun the show I got that chance as did many others my only regret is that I did not record the entire USA run. Where my tapes are concerned I plan to transfer them to DVD since tapes do tend to lose quality over the years and those are something that I do not want to lose.

BTW, is there anyone here that taped the show during its original run from ABC? Even thoughtI have the last six months I want the last 10 episodes as they originally aired hopefully including commercials and promo spots for other shows that were on at the time. . .

On the subject of reruns, the perfect all soap network would be called Soap Opera Heaven and would show reruns of Edge Of Night(any pre June 1981 - December 1984 which were shown on USA), Search For Tomorrow(any pre 1982 -1985 also shown on USA. . . I would love to see some of the CBS run again), Love Of Life, Capitol, Santa Barbara, Another World, Dark Shadows, Rituals, Ryan's Hope, Loving, Texas, Another Life.

They would have a 12 hour block that would be shown twice daily that way if you missed the first airing you would have the chance to see them again. Where EON and SFT are concerned they would devote a full hour of the schedule to each one and they would show the credits as they originally aired in first run NOT this compressed mess that you see today. If there is one thing I hate about network TV today it is the way they no longer show the credit crawl for programs and the networks that do this picture in picture thing with the credits being unreadable and don't even think about hearing the ending theme because it ain't there. . .

just my 1/2 cents worth

> Haven't really been keeping up with the board...sorry...but youtube seems to have quite a bit posted of EON....I think I noticed a few complete episodes...albeit in > installments....but it might be worth a look.

i wish YouTube allowed videos more than 15m in length, because i have any number of 1980 EON episodes and clips i'd love to upload!!!!!!!!!
