Ebben? Ne andro lontana is a 2002 VCR vid created by Feochadn aka Jo for Escapade.
It is not listed on the official playlist because the vid was being made the very weekend of the con.
The vid features the harrowing but beautiful imagery from Band of Brothers's depiction of the Battle of the Bulge, with death, destruction and blood in the snowy forest set to Maria Callas's rendition of Ebben? Ne andro lontana from the opera La Wally. The vid is hauntingly beautiful and terrible at the same time; the sequences from the show feature many of the show's most beloved characters being maimed or killed.
"Don't Fight in the Snow"
The vid's "nickname" ("Don't Fight in the Snow") is based on an anonymous comment made about it at Escapade's vid review: "I don't know what this vid is supposed to be saying. 'War is hell?' 'Don't fight in the snow?'"
The vidders found this so hilarious that they named their vid collection, "Don't Fight in the Snow," and the sequels, "Bride of Don't Fight in the Snow," "Son of Don't Fight in the Snow," and "Gozilla vs. Don't Fight in the Snow."
The vid later became the lynchpin of the Vividcon 2006 themed vidshow "War is Hell."
