Dykes to Watch Out For is a comic strip by Alison Bechdel, running from 1983 to 2008, with a brief return[1][2] in 2016. In 2023, it was adapted by Audible into an audio drama.

Plot
Bechdel describes the comic's plot as being “half op-ed column and half endless serialized Victorian novel.”

For the first four years of the comic, it consisted of one-off joke strips. One of them took on a life of its own.
Fandom
An informal survey run on Bechdel's website in 2004 determined that many fans kept up with the comic through PlanetOut's archive. Sadly, the site stopped carrying DTWOF in 2006.[3]
In the early 00's, Bechdel often interacted with the fandom, linking to erotic Ginger/Samia/Cynthia fanart on at least one occasion.
