It was sweetly written, covering Odo's time as a human and delving a bit more into his drinking problem in a way I found believable. I was never happy the writers on the show didn't cover this after showing us he had a problem in the first episode, but this story did it nicely and in the way of a romance. Not too thick, and the romance was light and believable. The scene where Odo finally gets to kiss Kira was lovely! :-) The scene where they make love was left to the readers imagination and that was nice as well. While I like a good pot-boiler as much as anyone, sometimes its not necessary and in this story, everything was perfect. The best sex is sometimes implied, as in the movies where they cut away, leaving the audience to imagine what is going on. Hezromberg did this and did it well. I liked the other crews interactions, especially Dax who is rarely given enough to do either on the show or in stories. Here she gave Nerys a good talking to and followed it up with Odo. The scene where she and Julian accidentally interrupt a passionate clinch between Odo and Kira is alone worth the read! This one is a keeper and I highly recommend it to other fans of DS9 romance. :-)
